It’s Time to Cross Your Jordan | Bishop Joseph Norfleet

Date: December 7, 2025

Messenger: Bishop Joseph Norfleet

Message Title: It’s Time to Cross Your Jordan

Key Scriptures: Joshua 3:9–17; Isaiah 55:11; Jeremiah 1:12; Proverbs 4:23

Message Overview

Today’s message calls God’s people to recognize when the Lord says, “It’s time.” Just as Israel faced the Jordan River before entering their promised place, we too reach seasons where God invites us to step forward in faith. Bishop Norfleet emphasized that God is forever faithful to His word, that our wilderness seasons prepare us for greater purpose, and that crossing into new territory requires trust, obedience, and spiritual readiness. God has already prepared the way—our role is to heed His voice, guard our hearts, and step when He says step.

Key Points

God Is Forever Faithful to His Word

Scriptures: Joshua 3:9–10; Isaiah 55:11

God reminded Israel—and reminds us—that His promises never fail. His word always accomplishes its purpose. Even when circumstances look impossible, God has already anticipated what we need and prepared the way.

Takeaway: Stand firm in the confidence that God finishes what He speaks.

The Jordan Represents the Barrier Between Promise and Fulfillment

Scripture: Joshua 3:11–17

The Jordan River was not a geographical destination but a supernatural obstacle blocking the path to God’s promise. God parted it to prove His presence and to move His people into what He had already prepared.

Takeaway: What feels impossible may be the very place where God plans to show His power.

Your Wilderness Was Preparation, Not Punishment

Scriptures: Joshua 4:19; Deuteronomy 8 (implied themes)

Israel’s forty years of wilderness living were necessary to prepare them to handle the promise. Bishop taught that many people become comfortable in uncomfortable places, but God never intends for us to settle there.

Takeaway: Don’t despise the wilderness—it built the strength you need for your next level.

It Is Time for Another Crossing

Scripture: Joshua 3:14–17

Just as Israel had multiple crossings (the Red Sea and later the Jordan), we, too, have seasons of repeated transition and elevation. God is not finished using His people.

Takeaway: Sense the timing of God—when He says move, move.

Faith Must Increase for the Next Level

Scripture: Joshua 3:15–16

This time God didn’t part the waters before they stepped in. He required the priests to touch the water first. Greater assignments require greater faith.

Takeaway: Sometimes the miracle happens after you step, not before.

God Does Not Have to Do a New Thing in an Old Way

Scripture: Isaiah 55:8–9 (reflected principle)

Red Sea miracles may not be Jordan River miracles. God changed the process to grow His people’s trust. We cannot limit God to former methods or familiar patterns.

Takeaway: Stay open—God’s next breakthrough may look nothing like the last one.

You Must Be Proven Before You Are Promoted

Scriptures: Job 1–2; Matthew 3:13–17; Matthew 4:1

Before Jesus began His public ministry, the Spirit led Him into the wilderness to be tested. Before Job received double, he endured unimaginable loss. God proves, then promotes.

Takeaway: Trials do not disqualify you—they confirm you.

Guard Your Heart and Heed God’s Voice

Scriptures: Proverbs 4:23; 1 Samuel 4 (Eli’s sons referenced)

Ignoring God’s correction and allowing spiritual contamination can cause us to lose precious things. Bishop urged believers to guard their eyes, ears, thoughts, and influences with diligence.

Takeaway: Protect what God has placed within you by filtering what you receive.
